Hosting prerequisite
A Python application normally needs a compatible process runtime, not just static-file hosting. Confirm that your chosen server supports persistent processes and service supervision.
Application
Create an isolated Python environment, install application dependencies and expose an ASGI application. Test locally before adding a reverse proxy.
from fastapi import FastAPI
app = FastAPI()
@app.get('/health')
def health():
return {'ok': True}
For a local development run:
python -m venv .venv
. .venv/bin/activate
pip install fastapi uvicorn
uvicorn main:app --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8000
Production architecture
Place an HTTPS web server in front of your application worker. Restrict the backend listener to loopback or private networking. Use an operating-system service manager or supported container orchestrator for restarts.
Checks
- Return a health response through the public HTTPS hostname.
- Verify forwarding headers only from trusted proxies.
- Implement request-size limits, logs and resource monitoring.
- Do not use the development process as your only production reliability plan.
Read the current FastAPI deployment guidance before selecting a process model.
Examples are starting points, not production security audits. Confirm dependencies, versions and pricing using linked vendor documentation.
